HELLO, MY NAME IS PETCHY

Well it's not really. My real name is Solveig but the nickname Petchy has stuck with me since college days - my surname is Petch, so it's not even very imaginative! The funny thing is my younger sister Elisabeth also goes by the same nickname online - which makes things a little confusing!

The short version: I am a graphic designer, self confessed fabric-a-holic, craft- and sewing addict and retro furniture hoarder. I am also mum to Ruben, who runs on super-charged Duracell batteries and has no off-button.

I love all things retro, and can often be found scouring the local charity shop for treasures. Fabrics are another obsession of mine, and I have a rapidly growing stash. I dream about one day releasing my own line of fabric designs. I have also recently bought myself a DSLR camera and am having fun learning how to use it. I still have NO idea what I am doing with it most of the time, but it sure is a lot of fun!

I blog mainly for fun. What started off as a way of recording all my craft projects and sharing them with friends and family has now grown into a blog with an increasing number of readers from all around the world. I am still amazed that complete strangers like my blog enough to come back again and again - but it certainly has made blogging more fun. Knowing that people seem to enjoy reading Made by Petchy is a good motivating factor. So a great big THANK YOU to all of my dear readers!

I don't really know what else to write here, so please feel free to leave a question in the comments and I will do my best to update this post with answers on a regular basis!

Yep - because I am from Norway too :) I grew up on Smøla, then lived in the UK from 1999-2007, but am back in Norway again now - also on the west coast; Kristiansund to be exact.

I blog in english though since I have readers from all over :)

Wow! I stand in awe of your craftiness and your energy levels--to do all you do with a three year old at home is impressive. I live in Prince Edward Island, Canada.

Hi Petchy. I have to say that I too have recently purchased a DSLR and am trying it out. Compared to you though my photos look like something out of a cheap disposable camera. Your photos are beautiful. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who likes to take pics of bldgs and random abstract things. You keep it up---you really have a great style and technique. I'd love to know how you have learned so quickly!
