The opening concert was a real treat - if you're not Norwegian you've probably never heard of Odd Børretzen, but this 82-year old author, illustrator, translator and vocalist is pretty amazing. He has a very characteristic voice, and has a unique style where rhyme, rhythm and comic timing come together to create a quirky mood; perhaps best described as sometimes funny, sometimes melancholy - often both at the same time.
As for Mikkel Aaaland's Adobe Lightroom workshop I went to on Tuesday and Wednesday... that was brilliant! I'm gonna be doing pretty much all my post processing in Lightroom from now on - apart from when I want to do collages, add textures etc. Definitely try it if you're into photography and haven't already converted! Aaland has authored several books, among them a really comprehensive book about Lightroom 2 which I can heartily recommend!

Petchy, Petchy , Petchy, LOVE the pictures,so artistic and so good to see a different part of lives. I am from U.S. I check your blog daily. So interesting, thanks so much for more posts. Appreciate it !!
ReplyDeleteThat is the best description I've heard for those who don't know who Odd Børretzen is!
ReplyDeleteYou can see more of my photos in my photoblog, it's linked in the sidebar :)
ReplyDeleteYou know what I find funny is that Odd Børretzen is just that... ever so slightly ODD, but a very GOOD sort of odd. (Odd is a common Norwegian name by the way, and no it doesn't have the same meaning as the english word)
very very cool!!!
