More thrifted treasures

Look: "new" coffee table! The date stamp underneath tells me this table was made on the 11th of September 1952 - and so will soon turn 60. Looks pretty good for a 60-year old, methinks. And what a bargain it was too, practically free! Not having a car, if I wanted that table it was going to have to be carried home. By me. That sure was a novel experience... People in passing cars looked at me like I was some sort of lunatic. They're partly right, of course.

The shelf underneath the table was made of some sort of woven wicker material, and it was both utterly hideous and damaged, so it had to go immediately. That's why it looks a little odd right now - but I am replacing it with something far better soon! I guess I'll spam you all with a another pic of my living room when the table is fixed and the new sofa is here in 4-6 weeks.

I also picked up these old kitchen scales from the same shop:

They seem to be about 100-150 grammes off when weighing a 1kg bag of flour, so bit of fine tuning is in order before they can be used. But if that fails I'll just use them as a decorative item.

I'm really on a bit of a thrift-shop spree these days, it seems!

  2. På vekten din skulle ha vært et fat. Når fatet står på blir vekten nullstilt. Jeg har slik en vekt selv og de er bare herlige!!
